March on with soldier on – day 3: pushing through the pain

Day 3 of the March On With Soldier On challenge is here, and the journey is starting to take its toll. The initial excitement of stepping off on Day 1 has settled, and now it’s all about endurance, resilience, and pushing through.
The Challenge Becomes Real
For many of us, today is when the reality of the challenge kicks in. Muscles are starting to ache, blisters might be forming, and the kilometres feel longer than they did on Day 1. This is the point where the mental battle begins—where commitment and purpose have to outweigh discomfort and fatigue.
But that’s exactly why we’re doing this. Every step we take is a tribute to our veterans, a reminder of their resilience, and a way to support those still fighting battles we cannot see.
Keeping the Momentum
As we move forward, it’s crucial to manage our pace, listen to our bodies, and stay motivated. Here are some tips to keep going:
• Stretch and recover: Don’t skip the cooldown! A few minutes of stretching can prevent injuries and keep you moving strong.
• Hydration is key: Even if the weather is cool, keep drinking water. Dehydration leads to fatigue and muscle cramps.
• Mind over matter: Focus on why you’re marching. Whether it’s for a mate, a family member, or just to make a difference, hold onto that purpose.
• Break it down: If the distance feels overwhelming, take it one kilometre at a time. Small goals lead to big achievements.
A Cause Worth Fighting For
Soldier On provides crucial support to veterans and their families, helping them transition to civilian life, access mental health services, and find new opportunities. Every donation, every step, and every conversation we spark through this challenge makes a difference.
Let’s Keep Marching!
If today feels tough, remember—you are not alone. Thousands of people across the country are marching alongside you, all for the same cause. So, lace up, dig deep, and push forward.
One step at a time, one day at a time. We’ve got this.
