Prevent Veteran Suicide

I’m doing this in tribute of my dad who was in the army for half of his life. My dad took his own life 5 years ago, as a result from severe mental health, severe chronic pain & not getting given the help that he truly did deserve. He always told me he felt dismissed and like they never cared about his wellbeing after he was medically discharged. The memory I have of him, will always be in a positive light of how strong he was and how hard he fought.

I don’t want other veterans to feel as though there is no support or help out there, and I do not want the families of veterans to suffer either. I believe more help needs to be available to those in crisis or struggling with the battles in their own mind. Not enough support is given to our service people after they get discharged from the army. So many of them dealing with PTSD, Depression, Anxiety & more - however once they are discharged, they aren’t cared for in any form of capacity. More NEEDS to be done for THEM.

I truly do believe we can all unite to make a change, have a conversation and do better as a society to help the people who have served & protected us.
