Day 7
I thought walking an average of 3kms per day, would make it easier. My legs still ache and my hips will never forgive me. I cannot imagine being a young, starved, soldier carrying a pack and a rifle in the pouring rain, through rainforest, in 40 degree weather. Not knowing if they were going to get to the end, or back home to their family. When put in context like that, my mild discomfort is negligible. For our young returning veterans, the horrors of war remain with them, I pray that this walk fund-raiser will save lives and create understanding in the community.Day 1
According to the app I did 2.13kms, however the same route on a different app said 3kms. so I am not sure which was accurate. however it is a start and in spite of foot pain and lower back pain I made it home. also it took way longer than 7 minutes. lolSupport my challenge to prevent veteran suicide and save lives
Right now in Australia, veterans aged between 24 - 44 are 2.7 times more at risk of suicide than other members of our community.
So, this March, I am conquering 96km to support Soldier On's mental health services and programs to help prevent veteran suicide and save lives.
It would mean so much to me if you donated to support my challenge so that we can show veterans and their families that they are not alone... we stand strong with them.
Together, let's help our heroes march on.
Thanks so much for your support.
