Final blog for this year
I went for one final walk today even though I had accomplished the distance I wanted to. It’s because of the support from March On, all participants, my sponsors and especially the moral support from people acknowledging my posts on Facebook that lift me up while I am walking. Thank you for bringing this great cause to my attention. I have benefited more from participating than even if I was in a position to donate more than I have managed to raise. Seeing others paying attention to my March On shirt even if they didn’t donate made me realise that the word is getting out there. I hope to be back better prepared next yearMy recent progress
Hi anyone who reads this. just a quick update. Firstly I would like to thank my mum for her recent donation. I couldn’t find where to log it as an anonymous donation so it shows that I made it. If I was going to donate more money to my own fundraising account I wouldn’t want credit for it anyway. I’d also like to assure you that the 18kms logged today was not all done today. it was over the last 3 days that I did this distance. I’m having a minor procedure on the 24th of this month and I’m not sure how much walking I’ll be capable of for the week after. This being the case I’ve had to readjust the kms per day I walk to ensure I can complete the 96 kms. I’ve now managed to bring the average per day down to 4kms so I can finish the day before my operation. whatever I can do until the end of March will just be a bonus for myself. The extra 1km I walked today was from taking the dogs to the creek so even though it counts it was more for pleasure than anything else. Thank you to everyone for your support. It has been inspirational and amazingSupport my challenge to prevent veteran suicide and save lives
Right now in Australia, at 42%, suicide is the leading cause of death for ex-serving males aged under 30 years old.
So, this March, I am walking to support Soldier On's mental health services and programs to help prevent veteran suicide and save lives.
It would mean so much to me if you donated to support my challenge so that we can show veterans and their families that they are not alone... we stand strong with them.
Together, let's help our heroes march on.
Thanks so much for your support.
