Day 31

I hate walking 😂 Apologies for my radio silence the last couple of days, but as they say if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all, and I had nothing but curse words 😄 I know you are all eagerly awaiting the outcome and I am proud to say I made it 💪 96kms in 31 days to support veteran suicide prevention 🙏 Not gonna lie it was a struggle at times but I have learnt a few things and remembered a few things about myself. I don't like to do things alone, I really hate walking, I am still goal oriented and results driven, I am not a quitter and the most important - I can find 45 minutes a day to prioritise my health if I choose too. Today on my final walk I was blessed with Maddy's company, the cow walked and danced her way around 5.6km in a pair of Birkenstock sandals and fluffy pyjamas pants while I seriously was considering amputating my leg from above the knee joint. To be honest super glad she joined me, she had me laughing as she was zip lining in the dark in a park at 10pm 😂😂 I am so blessed to have had such wonderful support from my family and friends. They say it takes a village and my tribe is pretty fantastic. Thank so much to everyone who donated or messaged me or just plain hugged me through this journey. I am so humbled by your support and kindness. For the bottom of my heart thank you 🙏❤️ Don't worry everyone there won't be a next one 😂😂

Day 27

I hate walking 😂 Great walk today..... not long to go now. Final 4 days. Will I or won't I make it. Fingers crossed 🤞

Day 25

I hate walking 😂 NAILED IT 5.4km in 1 hour 15 minutes💪 It took some serious self talk today to get me through this walk. Although fitness wise the walk was fine, the impact on my old war (basketball) injuries was tough. From the 4km mark I was having a very stern conversation with myself to keep moving 😄 6 days and 22 km's to go 🙏

Day 24

I hate walking 😂 Another late night power dawdle for me but I am slowly chipping away at the final goal of 96km over the final days. Today's walk was nowhere near as scenic as yesterday's but any kilometre walked is alright by me at this stage 😁 Must admit it is getting easier and I may or may not be getting a little quicker. Hoping tomorrow I can do 5km. Pray for me 🙏

Day 22

I hate walking 😂 Big basketball weekend but a great time none the less. Central coast on Saturday for the city vs country class with the U18 state team followed by an early start at Horsnby on Sunday morning and an afternoon game in Manly. Wow the fuel bill 💸💸 But as they say winners are grinners and it was a clean sweep weekend. So what is there to complain about. Found time this afternoon to go for the walk and am finding it much easier to do the kilometres, but am still working on the time management. Now in the final countdown only 9 days to go. Woohoo..... 🙏💪🎉 P.S I think I wore the old girl out today 🤣🤣

Day 20

I hate walking 😂 Do the great river walk he says, it's pretty flat he says...my husband LIES. Lucky I am the forgiving kind. But in all honesty it was a pretty good walk except for the rain, the humidity and the mud 😂😂 Although the knee protests every kilometre I am finding it easier to make the time for myself to go. 🙏

Day 19

I hate walking 😂 Tonight's walk was a little late but the weather was cooler and the rain had passed, so all in all pretty good. Side note: walking in the dark is very creepy 😱. I think I might be afraid of the shadows, very scary indeed. So strange I never noticed before how many people actually walk in our neighbourhood late in the evening, very cool 🙏

Day 18

I hate walking 😂 The walking gods are a vicious beast, the walk started warm but the sky's turned grey and I realised my wonderful builder neighbour Crellin Carpentry must be working on his house because the skies opened up. Mitch for goodness sake put the roof and walls back on your house so the weather can clear up. Rained so hard my knight rode to my rescue in his silver stallion (aka ford ranger) to rescue me but this damsel was already drenched 😂😂 Officially half way.... Yay me

Day 14

I hate walking 😂 Had a mini break getaway, the best 36 hours of drinking, eating, chair dancing and relaxing massages. Lisa Nel You can distract me from my Marching mission anytime. I am blessed to have you in my life. Today's walk, even made me laugh at myself 😂 I took a short cut through the Bankstown Paceway to find the gates locked on the other side, so instead of walking back the way I came. I got my bum up in the air and crawled through a hole in the fence 🤣🤣🤣 Footpath outside of the Paceway was very over grown, so was a little wilderness walk until I got to the Sutton's car yard, Shame Paceway be more like Sutton's 😁 Everyday is getting a little easier and I am able to spend more time on my stumpy little legs #winning.

Day 12

I hate walking 😂 Although it is growing on me, starting to feel some positive benefits. Today I was blessed with the company of my eldest baby Isabelle Blacklock, reminded me of when she was little and we would walk her to school (sometimes, well not often😜) today I walked her to the gym which at this time of the morning is better than walking her to the pub 😂😂. Pro tip: walking in the morning is easier than late afternoon. Nothing but positive vibes today 🙏

Day 16

I hate walking 😂 Well I had a mini break from walking, apparently it is in the rules that when you have a birthday you get the day off, look it up if you don't believe me 😁😁 Nothing says happy 50th birthday 🎂 better than a blood test and a strongly suggested poop test 😂😂😂 welcome to the 50 club. Today's walk.... What was I thinking, I got cocky, I forgot to take the DRUGS, silly Chrissy 😭😭Also since when did it start getting dark at 7.39pm what the heck 😜

Day 11

I hate walking 😂 My husband tells me it is getting easier I call bullsh*t but bless him for trying to make it better 😂😂 35 degrees in Penrith @ 6pm what the heck 🔥 Today's adventures took me back to the Whitewater Stadium in Penrith, I walked Maddy paddled, not sure who had more fun 🤷 but at least the outlook while I walk is really pleasant 🙏

Day 10

I hate walking 😂 So I didn't 😁 Today's decisions to not add more kilometre's to my tally with make tomorrow suck so bad 😜 Chose to watch or gawk (whichever word you prefer) at others doing activity today, while I chatted. Naughty Chrissy, tomorrow is going to be a punish 😂😂

Day 9

I hate walking 😂 Today's adventures took me to the Rhodes / Homebush Bay shoreline. Excellent flat walk and friendly co-walkers 🤷 actually I wouldn't know I am too puffed to talk 🤣🤣 Sorry Curtis Sardi going to be late to training I walked as fast as my stubby little legs would carry me. Today's Pro tip: umbrellas can be a walking stick too, love it when things have multiple purposes 🤣🤣

Day 8

I hate walking 😂 Started the day slowly due to a late night with my March On Challenge saboteur Katrina Blackwood and one too many gin cocktail teapots 😁 After 4 hours on court at U18 state training, a full grocery shop, unpack said groceries and put dinner on, later. I was ready to put the KMs in. But the walking gods are a vengeful beast and the skies decided to open up ☔ while I was on the March, I got drenched. 😭😭 How's my luck ☘️ These posts are not supposed to be so drama filled 🤣🤣🤣

Day 7

I hate walking 😂 It was muggy this morning in Condell Park and I was a Sweaty Betty for sure, but I got back at it even though I had some friends trying to distract me from my mission 😂😂 (Andre Woodford) and others with some helpful pointers on how to cheat... You know who you are, dodgiest crew ever 😂😂 Today's Pro tip: stretching, who knew 😜

Day 6

Was a bust for me👎 No walking today which means I have some catching up to do over the weekend. Choices and consequences 😜 booo to me 😂😂

Day 5

I hated walking a little less today 😂 Had a friend, thank you Kate Filemu was wonderful having someone to chat the kilometres away. Also the photo doesn't do it justice but the moon was awesome, a little orange tonight. Until tomorrow, 16 KMs down only 80 KMs to go.😭😭😭

Day 4

I hate walking 😂 Made a good decision today I walked earlier, just making it in before the storm hit 🎯 My adventures took me to the Penrith Whitewater Stadium while Maddy trained I walked, so as they say two birds one stone. Sorry for the daily posts, but this is the only way for me to stay accountable, so thank you all for your continued support. Pro tip today: I took Voltaren and Panadol before I walked so I was able to get some more steps in, yippee 😁

Day 3

I hate walking 😂 Today took me to a new and exotic location, Condell Park. After working out with my U16G White at Bankstown Basketball Stadium (by the way they are legends, super fun to coach), I took to the streets. Today I was riding solo, no companion 🤣 Thank you to Bankstown City Council for turning the lights on at Deverall Park 🤣🤣

Day 2

I hate walking 😂 Started with an early alarm that I ignored as my hamstring was sore, I made an excuse. A decision I will later regret. On the drive home from work it starts to rain, so I don't go straight away, I cook dinner and wait for the rain to stop.... But it didn't so now my new recruit (who was not happy, ear back the whole way) and I have to walk in the rain and the dark. I am sure there is a lesson here in being disciplined and committing to what i said I would do 😂😂😂 Tomorrow is another day and another opportunity to embrace the joy of walking 🙏

Day 1

I hate walking 😂😂 Started the day early with a 5.50am emergency fire evacuation at the AIS followed by 2 games of basketball and long drive home from Canberra to Sydney with an extra 1 hour of traffic delays. Which meant I didn't start my MARCH till later in the day. I have enlisted a new recruit, meet Nessa she is going to do the MARCH with me as everyone who knows me knows team sports YES individual sports NOT so much. Thanks to everyone who has already supported our team so far, we greatly appreciate you and your support. Stay tuned.and MARCH ON everyone. 🙏
