Walking for soldiers is a heartfelt tribute to those who have served, especially within my family. Each step honors their sacrifices and struggles. Key Reasons for My Walk - Family Legacy: My family's military history inspires me to recognize the courage of those who serve. - Remembering the Fallen: The Virtual War Memorial and cenotaphs in cities and towns remind us of lives lost and honor their bravery. - Supporting Veterans;Many returning soldiers face hidden struggles. This walk highlights the need for better support and raises awareness of mental health issues. This journey is more than a physical act; it’s about sharing stories, fostering community support, and ensuring every soldier’s sacrifice is remembered. Right now in Australia, at 42%, suicide is the leading cause of death for ex-serving males aged under 30 years old.
So, this March, I am walking to support Soldier On's mental health services and programs to help prevent veteran suicide and save lives.
