Why I'm Marching

First of all, thankyou to all my friends and family. Not just for donating to this cause but for being the people you are. 
The March On Challenge popped up in my Facebook feed one evening and instantly made me stop and think for a while. Yeah haha, it did hurt a little 😅. 
I had just worked with a couple of lads who had served in Timor and Iraq respectively. They were awesome guys and brilliant workers, organised, punctual, professional, no fuss just get it done. It stood out. 
We'd had some great chats, some real eye openers to myself who hasn't served. 
Hearing about and seeing the distant look in their eyes whilst they recounted, what I know was a tiny amount, of what they both saw and went through while on mission and the demons they fought with on return was fresh in my mind and I decided to sign up to March.
At first I thought I'll just do 48km, half Kokoda. Then na thats soft, do the 96km, full Kokoda distance. Then na, stuff that, if I get there I have to get back so let's do the 192km. 
I'm walking on flat ground. In dry boots. In safe territory. Nothing to fear but a possible blister. 
So thankyou to all our returned service people for helping make this country what it is today and protecting our way of life here in this amazing country. 
To anyone wishing to donate, thankyou. A few bucks from each of you will go a long way in helping this extremely worthy cause. 
We probably all have had family or friends serve over this past century so i ask you to think about them when you do.

Support my challenge to prevent veteran suicide and save lives

Right now in Australia, at 42%, suicide is the leading cause of death for ex-serving males aged under 30 years old.

So, this March, I am walking to support Soldier On's mental health services and programs to help prevent veteran suicide and save lives.

It would mean so much to me if you donated to support my challenge so that we can show veterans and their families that they are not alone... we stand strong with them.
