Welcome Simon and Andrew

Simon Campbell and Andrew Spicer have joined Lara Larrikans, and their impact has already become apparent. 

With Simon the former signalman in RASigs the message is clear - the donation juggernaut has arrived.  This man is inspirational in how he has inspired those around him to get up and moving, and point their generosity his way.

Andrew brings years of ultramarathon, cross-country competitions, and chasing down of villains over shorter distances to the fold with grit, determination, and style.

I thought I’d personalise the standard message, so please indulge me..

Veterans of all types deserve to do their jobs, love their families, and be a part of society - just like everyone else.

Sadly, some of us are exposed to situations or events that creates a horror or sadness we are unable to escape whether we’re awake or asleep.

Some of us who are unable to co-exist with such a terrible affliction, negative intrusive thoughts, fear of being exposed to stimuli and myriad of other conditions plague us. Sadly this can lead to suicide to escape.  I know too many in my line of work who ended their lives because of some very complicated and troubling reasons.  In all of these cases for me, there was no apparent signs that things had gotten too much. 

I can’t think of many reasons why you wouldn’t want to raise money to at least try and help men and women who need options to get better.  There is no ‘cure all’ pill or therapy which will eradicate the ‘intruder’ completely, however at least offering options could make all the difference.  

Your donation WILL go towards a tangible service, aimed to empower servicemen and servicewomen.  I know this, because I have been sponsored by Soldier On to undergo a course of study which keeps my brain ticking over.  It’s in cybersecurity, so those skills are directly transferable to most areas of life.  How wonderful.  The application process isn’t onerous - just thorough - and the staff are extremely helpful and supportive.

I believe in the validity of the activities and incentives this group offers.

These programs and opportunities extend to their families which is great.
