Perth to bunbury day 4

After arriving at the Myalup Caltex exhausted from walking in the 38 degree heat I was welcomed to free coffee and food which was appreciated so much. I stayed there trying to rest but with the feeling of Bunbury and home so close the momentum to keep going was just to strong. After around 4/5 hours rest I made my way into Australind and knew I had to rest more and give my shin splint that I’d been struggling with for two days a rest. I had what felt like 2 hours sleep on the ground beside a toilet block with the sun starting to rise I decided to go and reach my target. Arriving into Bunbury at 9:30 am.

Waited around for what seemed hours in the heat then took off later afternoon for Caltex Mylup .. 24 kms Tried resting and was impossible. Lack of rest is hard to deal with. Mentally, physically draining. In reach of Bunbury. Thank god for the staff at the Caltex for making thing as comfortable for me as they could

Tough night walking. Had a slight miscalculation on the distance and ran out of water with still a way to go. Body seized when I arrived at the destination. Refueled and feeling better

Left the RSL in Perth last night at 5pm. Walked 46 kms close to 11 hours Today resting up watch what the weather and waiting for the body to recover.

Support my challenge to prevent veteran suicide and save lives

After walking solo across Australia in 2019 raising awareness for suicide prevention and our mental health I’m off again this time walking from Bunbury to Perth to support the veterans of Australia. Right now in Australia, at 42%, suicide is the leading cause of death for ex-serving males aged under 30 years old.

So, this March, I am walking to support Soldier On's mental health services and programs to help prevent veteran suicide and save lives.

It would mean so much to me if you donated to support my challenge so that we can show veterans and their families that they are not alone... we stand strong with them.
