I have now walked the distance from Owens Corner to Kokoda and have now just turned around to go back to Owens Corner. My walking is so easy when I think of those people, such as my brother Robert, who have walked the actual track. i am completely in awe of those mostly young men who in 1942 fell back in a fighting withdrawal from Kokoda, then halted the enemy and drove them back to Kokoda and eventually Gona and Buna. All while carrying all their equipment and suffering unimaginably conditions.

In memory of two Soldiers

I am walking in memory of my two fathers in law. Tom Carlyon a second world veteran who was captured in Crete in 1941 and Bat Onley who served in Vietnam.

Support my challenge to prevent veteran suicide and save lives

Right now in Australia, at 42%, suicide is the leading cause of death for ex-serving males aged under 30 years old.

So, this March, I am walking to support Soldier On's mental health services and programs to help prevent veteran suicide and save lives.

It would mean so much to me if you donated to support my challenge so that we can show veterans and their families that they are not alone... we stand strong with them.
