2026 March On Challenge

Day 3 - cairns and 41kms!

Day 3 saw me fly to Cairns for work so got to change up the scenery on my afternoon walk. Very muggy but otherwise pleasant. The esplanade is a hive of activity with live music, restaurants, people swimming at the lagoon and fitness fanatics pounding the pavement. There are also an insane number of shirtless men with buff bodies everywhere!!! is there a football team in town??? Another 8+ kms clicked up tonight 💪🏼

Day 2

Got in my 10kms today after work although today was mostly on soft sand so a bit of an extra workout. Managed to dodge all the rain though so cheering 👏😂 Body still feeling good.

Day 1 - 22kms

Well I started strong with a plan to knock out 20kms on day 1 given it was a weekend and I rested my body the previous 2 days in preparation. This mornings 13 kms felt good, easy even given I’ve been training on sand the past few weeks and this mornings walk was on a hard surface with shoes. Tonight’s walk was a little harder. The first 5 kms were ok, harder than this morning considering I was barefoot on sand but the last 3kms were slow and it was dark. Had to ring mum (for safety reasons) to talk to me until I got back to the car, where I forgot to turn off my tracker so my best day now says 33kms! An obvious lie which I’m so disappointed about. But I was at least able to go in and adjust down my distance to the 8.7kms I actually walked before I drove away 😂 Overall I finished the day with 22kms (12% of my total) so at least I have some extra kms in the bank if I need a day off. Bring on day 2 with a goal of another 10kms 💪🏼🥾

Support my challenge to prevent veteran suicide and save lives

Right now in Australia, at 42%, suicide is the leading cause of death for ex-serving males aged under 30 years old.

So, this March, I am walking to support Soldier On's mental health services and programs to help prevent veteran suicide and save lives.

It would mean so much to me if you donated to support my challenge so that we can show veterans and their families that they are not alone... we stand strong with them.

Together, let's help our heroes march on.

Thanks so much for your support.

So far, I have helped provide:

25

peer support

...to support the mental health of our brave veterans to help them march on.
