Marching for Mates

The countdown has begun...

The fear has set in. With only a few days now until the challenge officially starts, that little nay sayer that is my brain has begun its mission of self-sabotage. It's no secret that exercise is NOT a passion of mine, let alone a skill. However, I have some very important reasons for straying outside of my comfort zone. #1 - The Cause A few years ago I was lucky enough to become involved with another organisation that strives to support veterans and first responders dealing with PTSD. Through that organisation, I have made some amazing friends who are beyond important to me now. This is for them. Their friends who served with them. Their families. Thank you. #2 - My Doggos On the 26th March 2024, I lost my soul dog, Ruby. On the 10th April 2024, I also had to say goodbye to her father, my little man, Rastus. Since then, I have struggled to be present for Charlie and Maggie - my grief simply too strong to open my heart again. Now it is time to repair those relationships and re-bond with the furry tornadoes. They will be completing this walk with me. #3 - Me Along with desperately needing to get fit and work on my personal health, this is an opportunity for me to focus on the deeper parts of my own mental health struggles. A chance to reclaim motivation that has long been lost and some pride in myself. Please come along with me on this journey. You can be donor, team mates or simply a spectator. I'm definitely going to need some cheering along and people to keep me accountable. I hope I can do you all proud xox
