2026 March On Challenge

Another march in march done.

I want to say i am really pleased to be able to help our veterans. I have failed to hit my target of 130 kilometres unfortunately because I was stuck with a week of Covid and anti viral followed by a week of antibiotics thanks to a bacterial chest infection. I love being able to help those who defend us. Saint and I will be back next year

Covid floored my wife and i for two weeks. finally saint and i got back out yesterday.

After several years Samsntha and i were struck down by Covid and i followed it up with a week on antibiotics for a nasty chest infection. Poor old Saint had neither but missed out on his walks until yesterday. Given I said I would do 130 kilometres I definitely will. My personal trainer has me walking between 8 and 10 kilometers a day so I will go beyond the 31st march regardless. Congratulations to everyone that did the march in March for Soldier on. Also thank you for your fund-raising to all at Soldier on. I have a cousin (more like a brother to me) who will benefit from your efforts.

Stucked indoors for 6 days

Unable to have added to my kilometers over past week courtesy of the dreaded covid. I'm still testing positive but as soon as it's negative I'll be back on the track

Bit of a slower amble today. samantha walked with saint and i.

Today we walked 13500 steps but at a much more gentle pace because we were joined by Samantha (my much better half). Saint thought it was wonderful when we walked past a farmers market with about 3000 people everywhere and lots of dogs to sniff. Just about got the 96 klms covered but a long way from getting to Kokoda and return. I put 130 up as my target but knowing I walk a minimum of 7 klms a day after the gym plus an 8 minute jog on the treadmill at the start of gym session, i would like to get to at least 192 klms. Love bring part of a great group.

Big walk today

Today I stepped it out a bit further and did 10 kilometres. Of course with my magnificent we at Kelpie with me. As a part of my gym and PT program, I walk 9000 steps a day but my PT has increased it you 10000 and today the beautiful sidekick "Saint" and I did 12000 steps. Great was in his dog air Jordan's today due to a sore left front paw and was a bit sore this afternoon after we had finished. I spoke to the emergency vet on the phone and was told at 30 kilos he could have half a plain panadol but to give him tomorrow off. He has an appointment with his favourite vet on Tuesday so he might get a couple of days off. We are on target to break the 200 kilometre mark at this stage. Donations have been thin this year but every bit helps in the long run. The image i have added today is the HMAS Warramunga (1) my dads ship for the last year of WW2 and his home during the Australian occupation of Japan.

Paul and saints journey for march 2026

My 5 years old Kelpie is going around again this year and loves it. we have a 7 Kilometers walk from home to the surf coast Highway and back with 2/3 rds of the walk being along the outside of an indigenous bush area called Kimbarne Doolibeal Wadawarrunja. I have my personal trainer from the gym setting me a 9000 step walk everyday so it's not a change from the everyday and Saint, the world's friendliest Kelpie, loves it.

Support my challenge to prevent veteran suicide and save lives

Right now in Australia, at 42%, suicide is the leading cause of death for ex-serving males aged under 30 years old.

So, this March, I am walking to support Soldier On's mental health services and programs to help prevent veteran suicide and save lives.

It would mean so much to me if you donated to support my challenge so that we can show veterans and their families that they are not alone... we stand strong with them.

Together, let's help our heroes march on.

Thanks so much for your support.

So far, I have helped provide:

41
