Just shy of halfway
March On Challenge Update 11 days into the month and I’m currently at 41 km of the 96 km goal, with tomorrow’s run set to take me past the halfway mark. All of the distance so far has come from intentional runs and rugby training, building some pre-season conditioning while supporting a cause I believe in. Thanks to the generosity of supporters so far, this effort has already helped fund 18 peer support sessions, 17 employment support services and 1 psychology session for veterans. There’s still time to donate, and knowing people are backing the cause definitely gives me that extra motivation to keep ticking the kilometres over when the legs and lungs start hurting. Right now in Australia, at 42%, suicide is the leading cause of death for ex-serving males aged under 30 years old. As the proud grandson of a Veteran, as well as a proud mate of many that have and are currently serving, this cause is much closer to my heart.
So, this March, I am running to support Soldier On's mental health services and programs to help prevent veteran suicide and save lives.
It would mean so much to me if you donated to support my challenge so that we can show veterans and their families that they are not alone... we stand strong with them.
