2026 March On Challenge

Reached Kokoda

Yesterday reached the objective and turned around. Crossed 100km and I am starting to feel it!!!!

Remembering SGT Peter Evans

I carry a yellow piece of steel pipe (weight of SLR) during my ' other' walks.
It was provided for training for the Peter Evans marathon in Perth c. 1987. I was allowed to keep mine as I was arrested one day training on the path along the Swan River. I was approaching  WA POL HQ with an inert SLR on the morning of the Hoddel St  shootings in Melbourne. Prior to that it was fine. Times have changed eh....

SGT Evans passed away from cancer and the SGT Mess at 16RWAR managed the annual event as a charity thing with proceeds to cancer research. No apps in those days! Same spirit.

First supporters

Many thanks team for your early support. We are all in it together for those who suffer from the trauma. Some tough it out, go off the radar, get up to mischief or some mightn't even notice till a trigger moment... or a combination.. Myself, I am a survivor, its a lived experience, and surviving is a 'work in progress'. Marching is good! Many thanks, Pevlin '9A' / 'Sea Turtle'

Crossed the line of departure

Took the official T-shirt out for a 2km test drive today. Strangely I became motivated to keep going!

Support my challenge to prevent veteran suicide and save lives

Right now in Australia, at 42%, suicide is the leading cause of death for ex-serving males aged under 30 years old.

So, this March, I am walking to support Soldier On's mental health services and programs to help prevent veteran suicide and save lives.

It would mean so much to me if you donated to support my challenge so that we can show veterans and their families that they are not alone... we stand strong with them.

Together, let's help our heroes march on.

Thanks so much for your support.

So far, I have helped provide:

36

peer support
sessions

34

employment
support

2

psychology
sessions

...to support the mental health of our brave veterans to help them march on.
